Summer

Haiku 2023

Morning sunlight; today

she is patient; seeing her

radiance, birds sing.

Walking barefoot, we

took a while to get here - to

where the daisies bloom.

Haiku
Jan 2022

peaceful morning, how
beautiful to touch the clouds
in my steady gaze.

2022

calmly I breathe, one
breath in, one breath out, until
my chest reflects our reflection.

2022

Wamoon, you welcome
us every year, to see your
ever-changingness

2022

sand glass, who knows your

journey? wave polished in currents

coming home to shore

2022

your hand, soft shadow on

my buttock at night, cooling

curves of warm sand dunes

2022

summer days broken
by thunderstorms, finally
a cool night to sleep

2017

walking hand in hand
sunned pomegranates branch
toward us
2016

listen! cicadas!
gentle summer rhythms
after the thunderstorm
2018

sunset, crescent moon
together over a bay
on our lips, cherries
2018

sea is calm, lights on
rolling waves, sparkling spray
grasses, shells, and me
2020

summer raspberries
sweetened sunshine, rain-bulbs
fall, pop in my mouth
2020

a cradle, looking up
will please you hold this child ?
mother asks the moon
2020

one ear on his chest,
one ear to the shore, beating
heart, lapping waves
